An important schedule change has been proposed for the North American Wetland Conservation Act (NAWCA) Grant Program. The North American Wetland Conservation Council (NAWCC) has indicated support for a change in the annual proposal submission cycle, starting next year. This change is expected to be decided by a vote of the NAWCC in December, 2024. If this change is made, the first round of Standard Grant (up to $3 million) proposals to be funded in the 2026 federal fiscal year would be due on July 10, 2025; the second round would be due on February 26, 2026. It would also mean there would be no grant submissions due in February of 2025, which is normally when the first half of proposals would be due. The timing of the Small Grant (up to $250k) Program will not change.
