Overview
In 2014 bird habitat assessments were completed in the JV region. These State x BCR assessments, and accompanying summaries, were developed to serve as a “stepped-down” version of the 2007 Joint Venture (JV) Implementation Plan, with additional detail for each of the smaller-scale land units within the JV region. Assessments include:
- A list of JV “focal species” representing bird guilds and cover types.
- Land cover change.
- Bird habitat objectives and cover types available.
- General bird management implications.
Note: Assessments were developed using 2001 and 2006 National Land Cover Data (NLCD). These NLCD data have been updated since 2006, thus estimates of land-cover conversion may be outdated in some assessments.
