We are excited to welcome Joshua Dickinson as the Eastern Tallgrass Prairie (ETP) Conservation Delivery Network (CDN) Manager. This position is managed by the Wildlife Management Institute and based within the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. In this position, Joshua will help improve and expand grassland habitats across the western part of the Joint Venture and into the eastern area of the Prairie Pothole Joint Venture.
The goal of the ETP CDN is to bring partners together to better coordinate conservation efforts, build strong working relationships, and promote practices like controlled burns and managed grazing that keep grasslands healthy. The network also helps connect farmers, landowners, and conservation groups to highlight the many benefits of grasslands—such as supporting wildlife, improving soil health, and strengthening local communities.
The ETP CDN will focus on encouraging farming practices that work alongside grassland conservation, increasing awareness and acceptance of prescribed fire, and providing the data and tools needed to support these efforts.
